Quebec to Toronto

We have had a busy couple of days.
We visited old Quebec town what a delight! We climbed very high in the shopping area Jennys legs were killing her but she did not give up and it was worth it. This town is. Walled fortress which is under protection from UNESCO because of the historical buildings. It was a grey cold morning only 7 degrees but we managed to find some warm cafés and artisan shops to wander through.we also went into a Innuit Gallery which had some great carvings of animals and hunting scenes. Thank god we have a long way to travel otherwise the visa could have taken a hammering. during the day we travelled through Quebec province and onto Ontoria Province the country side is spectacular at this time of the year lush forests with the leaves changing colour or rolling fields of Corn farms and onto Montereal where we stayed the night at Holiday Inn downtown.
They had a evening dinner function organised but we decided to amuse ourselves for the evening and went to the nearby Le Baei which is the old Hudson Bay Trading Company, so the store is actually older than the country itself, from there we went through to underground mall which went for twenty miles heaven for Jenny but by the time we found somewhere to have dinner the stores had begun to shut, good timing Jamie thought.

Up early as always on Wednesday and onto Ottawa which is the capital of Canada wich is another well laid out town, everything we have seen so far in Canada has been impressive, good size cities with pretty gardens. The average age in Ottawa is 36 so we felt right at home. He had a look around the markets brought some lunch then reboarded the bus and headed onto our mid afternoon cruise down the Saint Lawrence  river.
